Maquettes of 15th Century Sailing Ships From Europe
If you’re not familiar with sailing ships, (or if you are, still) you must see these wonderful maquettes of 15th century sailing ships and caravels. The 15th century was the time when ships and sailing were at their best, just remember that was the time of great tradings between Europe and India, which was done on the see because the Arabians wanted great fees for crossing their land. So, the Europeans decided that it is better and cheaper to make lots of sailing ships to do the trades. But, the culmination of those ships were the royal ships, in the end of the century, when Christopher Columbus started his trip with three such ships to discover America. The fact that the three ships resisted the storms and bad weather on the Ocean prove that they were of a great quality, not just good looking (at least in my opinion). So, if we can’t see the real ones, because 15th century ended long time ago, we can still see the maquettes to help us create as good picture about those ships as we can. What do you think?
