Mayor Cat… Seriously

For the last 15 years there is a mayor cat called Stubbs in Alaska. Is that even possible? Well, apparently it is. This domestic cat became mayor, because the residents of the small American town didn’t like any of candidates, so the elected the cat. So, shortly after he was born, Stubbs became an honorary mayor by winning votes of majority of 900 residents of the Talkeetna town. The choice of the cat made this town very popuar touristic destination – dozens of tourists stops by to the shop where Stubbs usually spends time and aks for him. But the only unresolved thing is who actually rules the town, who makes all the decisions, etc? Anyway, it is very interesting solution of a difficult problem of electing, I imagine what would happen if some other, bigger place would’ve elected someone’s pet for mayor.
