Those Crazy Spanish People Again – Catalans

You can never have enough of those crazy spanish people, at least I can’t. This story is about one Catalan costum or better say a festival, that is being performed in Barcelona every year – Trobada Castellera. This festival is often held in some public place, most often it is a square in front of community building and thousands of people are attending it. The performers are many, usually the group of trained acrobats that are there to make an incredible sight – a tower made of themselves! They climb on each other until they reach a height of 3rd or 4th floor at least. Beside it being a breathtaking sight it is extremely dangerous, so the people that are watching are also shaking at the same time. But the acrobats called “castellers” know of no fear, they just climb to the top. Even small children are doing it. I can’t imagine what could happen if they fell of that height… Probably nothing serious because all the people down would catch them, but still there are no records of such happenings.
